Senior Project Architect + Passivhaus Designer
Michael is a registered architect with over 15 year’s professional experience. He has worked in key roles on a variety of medium to large scale projects, where his eye for detail has helped to deliver high quality design outcomes. At Mather Architecture he manages complex commercial projects and is responsible for our documentation review process.
With a keen interest in sustainable design, Michael learned of Passivhaus, the world’s leading standard for occupant comfort and energy efficiency. He found the rigorous, climate-based approach to the design and construction of buildings to be undeniable, and he is now a Certified Passive House Designer. Convinced that Passivhaus can not only deliver optimal thermal comfort and indoor air quality, he believes long term affordability is achievable through substantial reductions in ongoing heating and cooling costs. He is currently applying this knowledge to the design of his own new home in Canberra.
