Vanessa Smyth

Vanessa has worked at Mather Architecture for seven years on a range of single, multi-residential, retail and industrial projects. While studying she spent some time in Rome, learning valuable sketching and model-making skills. Vanessa has been involved in Design Canberra and the Big Draw at the National Portrait Gallery, helping with the design and building of installations

Her interest in residential design is driven by design principles of adaptable function and focus on the experience of light. She also runs a Canberra-based portrait and event photography service. Vanessa has gained a lot of knowledge on a series of residential projects that the office has completed and had valuable input into their detailed development. She is an excellent 3D visualiser and is responsible for the documentation management of select projects within the studio.
